The LG KF310 is an affordable 3G phone released for budget users. The phone has some interesting features to stand out from the crowd. LG has kept in mind the average consumer who doesn’t want to spend an arm and leg on a smartphone but wants all the bells and whistles. You can learn more about the features and specs of the LG KF310 in this exclusive phones.com review.

Look, Design, Feel (/10)

The looks of the KF310 are impressive for a modestly priced phone. The LG KF310 is a slider phone that gives the impression of a high-end multimedia phone. The design is stylish and smart as is always with LG’s diverse trend of sliders. However getting your hands upon the LG KF310 will make you realize that its not a device of class, made of usual plastic and poor material. The phone weighs very less at just 95 grams. The 2.0-inch display was averagely bright, and nevertheless attractive. There was no D-pad, but five closely spaced buttons for navigation. Volume keys are present on the left, adding ease of use. Keys on the LG KF310 were press-hard ones, which will frustrate users that expect a pleasant multimedia experience. Worth appreciation is the slider mechanism, which is sturdy and has no creaky effects like most sliders in this class.

Features (/10)

The LG KF310 is feature rich. Period. We were impressed that the KF310, despite its proprietary OS, supports multitasking. LG must have worked hard to make this happen. The customizable home screen supports animated wallpapers, but the KF310 has only two built-in themes. The menu was good-looking, with everything organized well in categories. The LG KF310 has good organizer fuctions, along with a password protected notes application. There’s a 500-contact phone book, with each entry supporting full details and contact pictures/ ringing tones/video tones etc. There is 75 MB of inbuilt memory and a hot-swap microSD slot for more. The LG KF310 has got a 2 MP camera; but lacks on the video recording front with its low-quality of 176x144 pixels. LG was generous in that it included a secondary VGA front-camera on the KF310, for video calling. It is also possible to use the rear 2MP camera while on a video call. The screen present on the LG KF310 is of a 176x220 pixels resolution, not bad for watching small videos. The music player and video player functioned well and were easy to use, according to our expectations. One surprise to us was that the video player on this phone even had an option to capture screens from movies! Google Maps and Gmail mobile applications were compatible with the LG KF310 and worked perfect.

Connectivity (/10)

The LG KF310 is a Tri-band GSM phone that works on the 900, 1800 and 1900 bands. 3G is present only on the 2100 band, which is adequate for Europe and Asia. We expect an American version to be released by LG. There’s only Bluetooth 1.2 on the KF310, which kind of disappointed us. The LG KF310 supports mass storage through its Universal USB port. You can as well hook up the KF310 to your PC as a data modem.

Performance (/10)

The KF310 has a very long standby time. It is powered by a 900mAH Li-ion and gave a talk time of over 5hours. Internet browsing was a good experience and the phone had a great back-up for this purpose.

Value for Money (/10)

The KF310 had many surprises we didn’t expect for a phone from this class. It was ideal for those low on budget but want a full-featured multimedia phone and some good connectivity. LG has priced the KF310 moderately and we’ve to rate it a nine.
