A new voting system will be introduced in Estonia. In 2011, voting will be done there by mobile phone.
Recently, the Estonian lawmakers approved a measure that allows citizens to vote by mobile phone in the next parliamentary elections in 2011. In this way, Estonia will be the first European country that will vote by mobile phone.
In order to vote in 2011, people in Estonia will have to obtain free and authorized chips for their mobile phones. The chip will then verify the voter’s identity and authorize participation in the electronic voting system, writes Cellular-News. This new voting method has already be tested.
