A strategic partnership was signed in November 2009 by HP and Telefonica to supply joint mobile broadband services to markets across Europe and Latin America. Telegonica will start offering HP’s netbook Compaq AirLife 100 in the spring in selected countries.
The device comes with a 10.1 inch diagonal screen, full keyboard, 16 GB internal storage space, SD card slot, Android operating system and customized touch interface. In addition, the device comes with 3G access, WiFi connectivity, VGA webcam, up to 12 hours battery life in active use and 10 days in standby. It also includes GPS capabilities, preinstalled Ndrive navigation software with included regional maps and a Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250 chipset platform.
Unfortunately, there is no information regarding the exact launch date, but the offer should become available in the near future, perhaps by the end of this month.
