Tata Teleservices launched its GSM service in Mumbai and Maharashtra under the Tata DoCoMo brand. Thus, Tata Teleservice is the eighth GSM provider in Mumber, with tele-density of over 90 percent.

In addition, the company has been providing CDMA services in Maharashtra and Mumbai under the Tata Indicom brand.

“In spite of the competition, we are bullish particularly after the reception that Tata Teleservices (the Tata group’s unlisted telecom entity which holds 33 per cent stake in TTML) is getting for its GSM services in South India”, Dr Mukund Govind Rajan, Managing Director, TTML, said.

Tata Teleservices has already launched GSM services in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
