O2 UK owns exclusive rights to commercialize Apple’s iPhone. However, this might turn in a different direction as T-Mobile UK has announced that it is in talks to sell the handset.
According to The Register, T-Mobile is in talks with Apple to sell the iPhone in the UK, thus altering O2’s exclusive rights of the iPhone.
However, O2 is not doing so bad and it might be without serious consequences if T-Mobile actually manages to receive iPhone sale rights. O2 also have exclusive rights to commercialize the Palm Pre which is seen as a real competitor to the iPhone.
Additionally, Orange UK is also rumored to be in talks with Apple, to link up with its French arm which is already selling the iPhone, writes Cellular News.
