Two new mobile phones made by Sony Ericsson have successfully passed the FCC inspection. The two handsets are W518a and W995a.
Sony Ericsson W518a is a classy clamshell that comes with 3G connectivity support along with quad-band GSM and dual-band HSDPA. The handset also comes with a 2.2 inch QVGA internal display providing a 240 x 320 pixel resolution and a 1.1 inch external OLED display that provides a 128 x 36 pixel resolution.
Additionally, the SE W518a will come with a 3.2 megapixel camera, M2 memory card slot, GPS capabilities, stereo Bluetooth, the Walkman Player 3.0. The handset may go to AT&T as it is reported to have support of some of the carrier’s services, including MediaNet and AT&T Music Store.
The other phone that passed through FCC is the Sony Ericsson W995a. The handset comes with support for quad-band EDGE plus WCDMA bands II and V – frequencies that can be found in the US and Canada. Unfortunately there is no further information available on this handset and we do not know when any of these handsets will be released.
