Verizon Wireless will launch on May 11 another Samsung phone known by the name of Alias 2 or Samsung SCH-U750. The handset comes with an innovative keypad and brings a number of other interesting features.
The handset comes with Magic Keypad, or a dynamic electronic ink keyboard that replaces the dual QWERTY numeric one. The ink keyboard technology is similar to products like Amazon’s Kindle.
Anyway, the handset comes with a 2.6 inch TFT display with 240 x 320 pixel resolution and supports for 262K colors as well as for 8 lines of text in portrait an 5 lines in landscape.
Additionally, the phones sports a 2 megapixel digital camera that also has video recording capabilities and Night Shot. The phone also comes with a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 16GB of additional storage, Bluetooth connectivity, GPS and a 2.5 mm headset jack and EVDO digital.
The handset will be available at Verizon Wireless for $79.99 with a two year contract agreement and after a $50 mail-in rebate. The Samsung Alias 2 will also be available with a one year contract for $149 and a $50 mail-in rebate, as well as free of contract for about $249.
