Rumors have it that Telefonic O2 will probably lose the exclusive rights to sell iPhone handsets in the UK. Various publications report that the phone will most probably be sold by other mobile phone operators.
According to ME magazine, other mobile carriers will start selling the phone starting October 9. Telefonica O2 has started the handset in November 2007 and has never disclosed the time-frame of the contract. It is now believed that it’s a two-year contract.
"We have a multi-year exclusive deal with Apple which remains in place and both parties are very happy with it," O2 commented.
In addition, Apple dropped its plans to sign up a single operator in each country last year.
