The world’s top mobile phone manufacturer, Nokia Corp., has announced a series of changes in its business organization and a number of management changes to be implemented starting with July.
The changes are part of an effort to speed up execution and innovation at the company. The new structure will divide Nokia’s Device and Services business intro three units: Mobile Solution, Mobile Phones, and Markets.
The Mobile Solution unit will concentrate on high-end smartphones and mobile computer portfolio, the Mobile Phone unit will focus on Nokia’s mobile phone portfolio based on the Series 40 operating system, and the Markets unit will be responsible for sales and marketing, writes Dow Jones.
A series of management changes will be implemented as well. In consequence, the Mobile Solutions unit will be headed by Anssi Vanjoki, the Mobile Phones unit will be led by Mary McDowell and Markets by Niklas Savander.
