A new handset is planned by Sony Ericsson that will feature a 5 megapixel camera. It is said that the device has been codenamed Kate.

A number of images of the future SE Kate have been leaked and the new handset looks extremely cool. Let’s hope it will also stand to its name.

The Sony Ericsson Kate will feature a 5 megapixel Camera with Xenon Flash, Auto Focus and Smile Shutter. Unfortunately, there will be no front camera for video calling, no GPS, but at least EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA. Additionally it will run Sony Ericsson’s Java Platfrorm 8.4

The new handset will be probably announced in October and it will be available for purchase for about $450.
