The Apple iPad is available to pre-order from Apple. The product will start shipping in May 28. Apple is offering an iPad WiFi only or an alternative that supports both WiFi and 3G. However, the 3G version will come with £100 more to the original price.
In any case, the long awaited Apple iPad starts at £429.99 for a 16GB version, or £529.99 for the 3G version. The top 64GB model will cost £599 or £699 for the 3G version.
Customers will need a special SIM card for Apple iPad which will be available from UK operators very soon. Carriers are already detailing services with data tariffs made especially for the iPad.
O2 has announced that a daily tariff which offers 300MB at £2 per day. However, other plans are available. The 1GB allowance costs £10 per month and the 3GB costs £15 per month. Other carriers will offer their tariffs in the near future.
