Dell may join the mobile phone industry V.J. | , 12:19 p.m. March 25, 2009 2009-03-25

Reports say that Dell is looking at ‘smaller devices’ and consider to join the mobile phone market. Dell is not the only company renowned for their quality laptops; Acer is also starting to think mobile.

In a recent speech, Dell CEO, Michael Dell said that his company is currently developing a mobile internet device or smartphone. ‘It is true that we are exploring smaller-screen devices. We don't have any announcements to share today, but stay tuned as when we have new news we will share that with you,’ as quoted by the UK-based Mobile Today.

‘For the last three years, we have integrated 3G radios into our notebooks, We already have agreements with many mobile carriers around netbook devices, so it wouldn't be unreasonable to expect that we would have smaller mobile Internet devices or smartphones in the future’ Dell added.

Analysts say that if Dell would purchase an established mobile phone maker, the company would enter the business in force. They suggest that Palm would be the best option for Dell.
