AOL will in the near future launch the availability of its AIM and ICQ instant messaging services as well as AOL Mail on BlackBerry phones. Users will also have the possibility to integrate their IM contact list to contacts in their BlackBerry Address Book and vice-versa.
Even more the new service enables the user to customize his away message in AIM or ICQ by adding something like “away” or “out fishing” or whatever the user wants, directly from the BlackBerry phone without launching AIM or ICQ.
Additionally, BlackBerry smartphones that rune a software version of 4.5 or higher have HTML email capabilities meaning that they can download attachments and edit Microsoft Word, PowerPoint or Excel documents on the handset.
The services, AOL Mail, AIM, ICQ, are currently available for all BlackBerry handsets available in the US and may become available in other countries around the world in a few months.
