The number of 5 million mobile phones present in Lithuania is rather surprising if we keep in mind that the country’s population is estimated to be 3.4 million.
However, it seems that the mobile phone number is rising steadily. By the end of Q3 2008, there have been 5 million mobile phone subscribers and by September last year the number rose to 5.012 million.
Additionally the mobile operators’ income has increased substantially. Their total revenues increased with 3 per cent, and this is quite amazing for a country with a population not reaching 5 million. Anyway, the number of internet subscribers grew as well by 6.9 per cent to 671,976 - writes Cellular-news.com
