Do one thing copy the .cab file and not .exe to the phone storage or your memory card.
This will surely work.

I could download the .cab file successfully in my phone.
But this was with the .cab file is there no way out to run the .exe file?

Try running the .exe file on the desktop, when the phone is connected with active sync. This thing works!

Do one thing, after you run it, go to tools in Active Sync and select add/remove programs. The program shows up there and you need to manually install it to your phone.
