generally, when you purchase a cell phone from some service providers, they lock your phone so that you won't use it with other other network. But don't worry there are servies with which we can unlock the phones.
easy way is if you are using some perticular network, ask them for Unlocking code, they provide it to you, as you are valuable to them.

Above mentioned site is working fine and also listed many models of Nokia.
