Cell phone's serial number is a 15-digit code which is different for all handset. This number is useful when your phone is stolen and you can contact your service provider to block your handset. Thus blocked phone cannot be used anymore and also it doesn’t work with any other SIM card. So it will be completely useless for the thief who has stolen your handset.

For your handset serial number i.e. IMEI,
Just press *#06# on your handset and keep it safe.
