its a great basic phone,i got it fr back up at rs1239 from mobile store,bangalore.... great value for money compared to similar priced handsets in the market

Indian summers are quite long & harsh. My Crest Solar works just fine here during daytime. Otherwise also normal battery charge up could be used.

Does the solar panel have any negative effects over other parts of the phone like say due to over heating, if I keep the phone in the sun to charge?

This phone is great during camping trips. There’s no way you could charge a phone the normal way when there no source of electricity nearby. Sunlight is all you need and that you get in plenty during camping.

If the solar panel is supplying only 10 minutes of talk time, the feasibility of the feature is not much. You are completely dependent on charging the phone on electricity. I would really appreciate if the solar panel could supply proper talk time rather than being just an added bonus.

I am using E1107 as a back up phone. It’s cheap and if my Nokia battery dies down at the last minute, this one acts as an emergency.

Except for the solar power, the Samsung E1107 has very few features that make an impact. For those who work on the outdoor or enjoy trekking, camping; this phone is great for them.

hey, this is the first solar chargeable phone from Samsung. Samsung is really taking care of Indians!! I think, they are aware of the fact that Indians are facing power-cut problems!! sencondly since this is a low-end phone many people can afford it.. being a lower-end phone, this one has limited features such as flashlight, mobile tracker, FM radio.Good i would like to buy one... but want to know the price in INR please?
